Greener Approach To Renovating Your Toronto Kitchen
A renovation is your best chance to make a home cheaper to run and easier on the environment, and we build that in from the first measurement instead of selling it as an add-on. Across every renovation we take on, the same habits keep energy, water, and waste down:
Energy-efficient by default — LED pot lights, properly air-sealed insulation, and layouts that let daylight reach deeper into a space, so you heat and light fewer empty corners.
Water-conscious fixtures — low-flow toilets, faucets, and showerheads that cut household water use without the weak trickle the early low-flow models were known for.
Less sent to landfill — we sort and divert construction debris and donate sound cabinets and appliances rather than dumpstering them during a complete tear-out.
Built to last — a renovation done once, properly, is the most sustainable one there is; durable cabinetry, flooring, and solid cabinet doors mean you are not tearing the kitchen out and discarding it in eight years.
Healthier indoor air — low-VOC paints, sealants, and finishes in kitchens and bathrooms alike, so a freshly finished room is comfortable to live in from day one.
These habits are not reserved for big budgets. We treat small projects and post-leak repairs with the same quality standards as a complete renovation, and because the work stays in-house, the sustainable details never get lost in a hand-off to a subcontractor.
The Materials And Brands Behind Every Build
We supply and install our own materials, sticking to brands that have survived 20 years of our job sites. Here is what we reach for on most projects:
Quartz countertops — Cambria and Caesarstone lead our kitchen installations because they resist stains and scratches without ever needing to be sealed.
Cabinet hardware — Blum soft-close hinges, runners, and lift systems inside every cabinet box, finished with your choice of brass hardware, matte black, or classic chrome pulls.
Sinks and fixtures — Kohler sinks, faucets, and fixtures chosen to match the finish of your kitchens and bathrooms.
Cabinet boxes — plywood construction with dovetailed drawer boxes rather than particleboard or MDF, so drawers stay square for decades.
Flooring and tile — engineered hardwood, porcelain tile, and luxury vinyl, with shower and floor tile set over a Schluter uncoupling and waterproofing membrane instead of plain backer board.
Our custom cabinetry runs from painted shaker doors to walnut slab fronts, with door styles, colours, and finishes chosen to suit the style of the room. Because every material moves through one supply chain we control, the pieces arrive together to create a seamless look, and installation is never held up by one missing box of tile.
What Working With One In-House Team Looks Like
Every renovation follows the same four stages — design, build, and handover — run by the same company. Here is how a project moves once you hire us:
Consultation.
A free in-home visit or a showroom session where we measure, talk scope and budget honestly, and tell you up front whether your plan needs permits.
Design and quote.
Four to six weeks of detailed drawings, kitchen design selections, and a fixed written quote. Cabinets and appliances are ordered before demolition so the build never idles while appliances or tile are in transit.
Build.
A typical full kitchen renovation runs 10 to 14 weeks on site: demolition, framing, plumbing and electrical rough-ins — dedicated 20-amp small-appliance circuits, LED pot lights, and an ESA electrical inspection — drywall, flooring, cabinet installation, countertop templating, backsplash, paint, and appliance hookup.
Handover.
We walk the finished space together, clear the deficiency list, and hand you a written workmanship warranty. That is what quality workmanship looks like: not just clean mitres and quality materials, but the personal service that keeps clients coming back for the next room.
How Renovation Budgets Take Shape
Renovation budgets at Kitchen & Bath range from roughly $10,000 for small refresh projects up to $200,000 and beyond for complete, whole-home transformations. Every number goes in writing at your free consultation, but the bands below show how projects typically shake out:
Budget Band
What It Usually Buys
$10,000–$20,000
Refresh work: cabinet refacing, a new countertop and backsplash, paint, lighting, or a compact bathroom update.
$20,000–$50,000
A full kitchen renovation within the existing layout — new cabinets, quartz countertops, flooring, and appliances.
$50,000–$100,000
A custom kitchen with layout changes: walls moved, an island added for storage and seating, plumbing and gas relocated.
$100,000–$200,000+
Multi-room renovations, home additions, and structural work across the whole house.
A few things move the number most. Layout — keeping plumbing, gas, and electrical where they are saves thousands and creates space in the budget for better finishes. Appliances — a pro-style range and panel-ready fridge can cost as much as the cabinets around them. Materials — quartz versus laminate, custom cabinetry versus stock.

Questions Homeowners Ask Us Most:
Straight answers to the questions Toronto homeowners raise most often before hiring us.
How do I know your contractors are qualified to work on my home?
Every tradesperson on a Kitchen & Bath site is our own employee — licensed for their trade, covered by WSIB, and backed by $2 million in liability insurance. Because we do not use subcontractors, we can show you credentials before work starts. Ask at your consultation and we will walk you through all of it.
How long does a kitchen renovation take in Toronto?
Most full kitchen renovations take 10 to 14 weeks from demolition to final walkthrough. Smaller scopes — new cabinets, countertops, and backsplash without layout changes — finish faster, while structural work or additions add time. Before demolition we create a written schedule, so you know what happens week by week.
What renovation services does Kitchen & Bath offer?
We handle kitchen, bathroom, basement, and whole-home renovation services, plus custom cabinetry and home additions — all built by our own in-house team. Many clients start with one room and come back for the rest of the house. If you are unsure which of our services fits your plans, a free consultation will sort it out.
Do I need a permit for my renovation, and will you handle it?
If your renovation moves walls, plumbing, or gas lines, the City of Toronto requires permits — a building permit typically runs $1,500–$3,000 and takes 4 to 8 weeks to issue — and as your contractor, we prepare and file them for you. Heritage properties need extra lead time, which we build into your schedule.
How will you keep me updated while the work is underway?
You will have one project manager as your single point of contact from demolition through handover. Expect scheduled progress updates, photos when you are away from the house, and a direct line for questions. Decisions are documented in writing, so nothing gets lost between site visits.
How much does a kitchen renovation cost in Toronto?
Budgets typically run from $10,000–$20,000 for a refresh — cabinet refacing, new countertops, a tile backsplash — up to $200,000+ for a complete custom kitchen with a reworked floor plan and higher-end appliances. After a free consultation, we price your exact scope in writing.

Very neat work in our kitchen. Renovation included some demolition and we were worrying that the house would be in a terrible mess, nonetheless, the crew ensured to clean the space at the end of each work day. Recommended!

Absolutely had the best experience with Kitchen&Bath from the very first visit with Sofien, Tiana (while Sofien was away for a week) to team who measured and installed our countertop to exactly the specs we wanted, even when we said we didn’t mind a seam on our quartz counter but they insisted that we wouldn’t like it and thank goodness we went by their experience. They worked with us on the measurements we gave them, had some great ideas and correspondence’s via email or phone was always prompt. Will definitely be returning in the near future and recommending.

Had my kitchen reno done by kitchen and bath back in September this year. Their designer is so good, I love the look she came up with. I was hoping for something retro, sophisticated-looking and she did exactly that.

We bought two kitchens from Kitchen&Bath and both of them turned out great. Sales guy (sorry, I don’t remember his name) was very helpful suggesting the designs, placements of the cabinets, choosing the sizes – even the knobs! One of the kitchens was for our basement apartment, and another one for main kitchen. We were very concerned about the delivery, what if some part will be missing, but everything went really well. We used the installers from Kitchen&Bath. Very pleased with the service. Always on time, as scheduled, no issues. Both kitchens look great!

We hired Kitchen&Bath for our 2 large bathroom renovation and another guest shower room. The project took ~2.5 months. While this company is not the cheapest they really do keep to their timeline and professionalism. But that’s what you pay for when you hire a design and built firm, and to be frank absolutely worth every dollar. They remained on schedule and finished on time! They maintained good contact and updates throughout the project. The main project manager Sofien was so courteous and professional. Would definitely recommend this firm to anyone in the area looking to do a large high-end bathroom remodel.
